NOTE: We are not even going to try and tackle what has or has not been occurring at the Round House on Education..maybe Senator Wilson Beffort wants to in her summation!!
So, our Questions stand:
- A. Is there a bigger issue than the well-being and education of our beautiful children?
- B. Can Santa Fe or New Mexico expect to crawl out of last place in job growth without an educated and motivated workforce??!!
- C. Can we even whimsically contemplate attracting large or small business to Santa Fe or the State without such a workforce?
- D. How much does this contribute to New Mexico's rising "business flight"?
- E. Would not Santa Fe's nation-leading minimum wage necessarily boost motivation and graduation rates.
Our panel for the upcoming program is about as good as you can get on the subject
JOEL BOYD, Superintendent, Santa Fe Public Schools,
will lead our Panel.
We're not sure, but this fellow may knock off the Balloon Fiesta, Zozobra, President Obama, and the Congressional Mess as
"THE MOST IN-THE-NEWS" person. [And his Press ain't bad].
Seems like not a day goes by without our Superintendant meeting a new issue, pleasant or not, head on!
True to form, Joel has agreed to show up and address these "FUNDAMENTAL" and "SUPER-CRITICAL" issues..
JOEL'S PANEL WILL INCLUDE:
STEVEN SPRIEGHT,
General Manager, Sam's Club,
AND
DONALD DUPONT,
General Manager Regal Theaters.
BOTH STEVEN AND DONALD ARE LARGE EMPLOYERS IN OUR CITY AND HAVE FRONT-LINE OPINIONS.
ALSO,
NM STATE SENATOR SUE WILSON BEFFORT
HAS BEEN INVITED TO GIVE US A BRIEF UPDATE ON THE CURRENT LEGISLATIVE SESSION.
GUYS..
It's hard to imagine one could belong to a more interesting, dues friendly and informative group.
So, keep bringing your friends.
MAKE NO MISTAKE..our assembly, questions and comments each month are having a significant effect in Santa Fe, the State and way, way beyond!!!
