Today's Meeting!!!

Can it survive the threats from within and without?!!?

Is this a critical election?

Please join us and our very special speaker

John Agresto

As a scholar in the arena where history and the classics predominate, Dr. Agresto is particularly qualified to compare previous civilizations and what went wrong with them, with our current civilizations and what may or may not be right!!

From 1989 until 2000 John was President of St. John's College here in Santa Fe. In 2003, the Pentagon put him in charge of all Iraqi universities. He's returned to Iraq numerous times to help set up the American University of Iraq in the generally peaceful Kurdish area.

Before all this, John was a professor at the University of Toronto, Kenyon College, Duke, and the New School University. Under President Reagan he was appointed to the National Endowment for the Humanities and became acting Chairman of the agency under the first President Bush.

Even though he's published books on constitutional law, education, American politics, and the Middle East, his favorite is his last: Tomatoes, Basil, and Olive Oil - An Italian American Cookbook. John can always be counted on to give a top notch talk!
